It’s been a little while so I thought I would update you on what’s going on in my life!

C

First up, as I mentioned last week, C is back in training camp!  I can’t believe yet another season is upon us. We’ve almost survived the 2 ½ weeks apart (he has to stay in a hotel with the rest of the team) and I am happy to say we only have two more nights!  (Ok well, by the time you read this he will be back home!)

Also, by the time you read this he will have yet another Championship ring on his finger!  The official ring ceremony where the team owner unveils their new rings and presents each player with his is on Saturday night.  I have spent the week trying to find the perfect new dress, shoes, jewelry etc.  I don’t get to dress up very often, so I am really having fun with this.  I bought a groupon to get my hair blown out that day and I also got an appointment at Sephora to get my makeup done. I was planning on buying some new foundation anyways (more on that process later!) and since you have to only spend $50 to get your makeup done I thought it would be worth it!

Next up the season really begins…the first game is next Saturday (the 15th)!  I am getting ready to order some new shirts and I got a cute new necklace to support my man for games.  Be prepared to hear a lot more about football soon!

Books

Last update I gave you I had just started reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Here I Go Again by Jen Lancaster. The Fault in Our Stars was good, but be warned, it is definitely heart wrenching.  I don’t cry that often, but I did shed a few tears with this book.  It is about two teens with cancer that fall in love.  Here I Go Again was probably my least favorite book by Jen Lancaster, but she still holds her place as my all-time favorite author. I think I just didn’t really click with the subject which revolves around a lot of 80’s things. I was a little too young to really understand and appreciate that time period.

Next I read I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up For Education Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai.  I won’t go into that one much, since posted a big review on that here.  I would just say that I didn’t really like it.  I wouldn’t put it on any of my favorite lists.  That being said, I am still glad I got a chance to read it.

Then I read Divergent by Veronica Roth. The book is this month’s book for Bon's Book Club.  The movie comes out at the end of March, so I am glad we are reading it now.  When I started writing this post on Friday, I was about 30% through it and I really liked it. Now, on Monday morning, I and completely finished and I have moved on to the second book in the series! The book was great, I loved it. It is definitely reminiscent of the Hunger Games if you liked those books.  I told C he would like it too and he has more than halfway done in a few days as well!

Finally, I am currently reading
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and Insurgent by Veronica Roth (the second book in the Divergent series). I started reading The Night Circus and got about 50% done when I realized that it is on my book club list for April, so I set it aside for a bit.  It is ok, but I am hoping it really picks up in the second half. I have heard really great things about it, so I am just waiting for the excitement that everyone else feels for it!

TV

C and I started watching Revenge on Netflix.  Have you watched this show? Oh man, I love it!  I would highly suggest it.  We are almost through the first season now.
Also, we are back on Mad Men.  We kind of slowed down for a bit, but now we are finishing up the third season.  This show definitely has its ups and downs.
Oh and you guys, the Bachelor finale is on tonight!  I am soooooo glad some of the girls (go Andi!) have finally figured out he is a douche bag. Pardon my language, but it’s the truth. I felt it before the season even started and it’s nice to know that he finally showed his true colors to some of the girls.  I really hope he is different with the top two girls (Nikki and Clare)…but I doubt it. I wish them the best, but I just don’t seeing anything working out!  I honestly don’t know if he will even pick anyone tonight and it he does, I give them maybe a 15% chance of actually making it!
Finally, since C has been gone for 2 ½ weeks, we really have a lot of shows we need to catch up on! Once we clean out the DVR a bit, I’m sure we will start a new show.  We are thinking maybe Scandal?  I hear a lot of good things about it!
So that's it!  What books and TV shows are you loving right now?!?

  3. I love Scandal! I haven't been able to watch any of this season since I didn't have cable when it started and I've never been able to catch up, so I am just waiting for it to show up on Netflix. Ha. But seriously, I love it.

Also, since I'm in Vegas, and you're in Phoenix, and they're not very far apart, I think we should seriously consider getting together at some point. What are your thoughts on that??? :)
