Boxy Charm Review - January

Boxy Charm time!

I am still glad this is one of the boxes I choose to keep after “Operation Baby: Have to Save Money and Stop My Subscription Boxes!”

The box is $21.00 a month with free shipping and is a “beauty box subscription that surprises you each month with the best beauty products from popular and chic brands. Each box contains full size and luxury size beauty samples from preferred well-known brands.” They aim to cover a whole look from makeup to nails, which I really like.

The theme this month is “Celebrate in Style” which I could give or take.

Here is the January Boxy Charm!

   1)      Beauty for Real The Perfect Pencil Lip Pencil   .04 oz. (FULL SIZE)
The thing I find really odd about this is it isn’t a specific color.  Are they saying that this
pencil would work for EVERY skin color?  That seems a little nuts.  It does look like a nice
color for me, but I don’t ever use lip liners.  Maybe I should start?  I mean this one IS
            supposed to be perfect haha.
Full Size: $14.00 My Value: $14.00

           2)      Beauty for Real True Color Lip Cream in “Always There” – .15 oz. (FULL SIZE)
This is a very pretty color, though a tad dark for me. I would classify this more as a lip gloss versus a lip cream though. That doesn’t matter though, because this lip product is seriously awesome. Not only does it have a mirror on the side of the tube (which I think is genius) it has a stinkin LIGHT in the lid! You press a little button on the top and boom, you can see yourself in the mirror no matter where you are. Hooray for lipstick in all the right places.
Full Size: $22.00 My Value: $22.00

3)   Mirabella Face Primer Makeup Primer – .45 oz.  (FULL SIZE)
I’ve gotten this exact product in another beauty box and I didn’t find anything spectacular about it.  I tried to use it, but it just didn’t have any benefit for me.  The price tag definitely drives me away too, this is not a very large tube!
Full Size: $29.00 My Value: $29.00

4)   Pur-lisse  Skin Sparkle Flash Tattoos – 1 Sheet (FULL SIZE)
I’m not trendy at all and I’m also not 12 so these just aren’t appealing to me.
Full Size: $12.00 My Value: $12.00

5)   Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum – 1.7 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Maybe I am weird, but I’ve never been one to feel like I really need tan skin!  I barely even tanned before my own wedding. If this were for the body, I might give this a try, but for my face?  It doesn’t really work for me because I generally use a pretty full coverage foundation.  Anything I wear would cover whatever color this serum gave to my face.
Full Size: $47.00 My Value: $47.00

Final Cost: $21.00
Final Value: $124.00

Such an amazing value!  As always right?  I always feel like I definitely got my money’s worth for this box. Though I won’t be getting any use from some of these items, there are others that I definitely will be using and make the box well worth the cost!

Week 22

Check below for more photos....including a few bare belly ones!

What's Going on in There?
Baby is the size of a papaya or an ear of corn (about 1 foot long and 1 pound). So cute to imagine my little ear of corn! He can definitely hear noises from outside the womb and reacts to lights.  Haven’t shined a flashlight on my belly yet, but we may have to soon! His irises are formed, but don’t have any pigment yet, though we all know they will be brown!

Maternity Clothes?
I heart maternity clothes.  I had to steer clear of pants this week when possible though, my tummy was so itchy and those were making it worse.  Dresses were my go to this week. Thank goodness for 70+ degree weather here in AZ!
Inching a bit higher….I think around 11 or 12 this week.  I have got to stop with all of the ice cream!
Stretch Marks?
None that I have seen

Totally.  He kicks a lot during the day, especially when I eat.  He also hates whenever I have to bend over for any reason, I get some good kicks for that every time.
Food Cravings?
Ok I have to admit it, I pretty much have ice cream every single night. This is such a cliché pregnant thing and so not good for me….but I can’t help it. It’s soooo tasty! Also, I’ve noticed pictures of food are very influential on me.  If I see something that looks good, it becomes an instant craving to me! Oh yeah finally, I craved Olive Garden salad for like 4 straight days this week before I caved and C and I went for dinner. It hit the spot!
Anything Making you Queasy or Sick?
Not at all, yay!

What I Miss?
This week I miss margaritas.  I had a friend send me pics of some and oh man, it really made me want one!
No, thank you Lord!
Nesting like CRAZY! I’ve finally decorated our master bathroom, master bedroom, guest bedroom and guest bathroom.  All in one week.  After living in this house for over 4 months. So yeah.  I’ve also noticed my little semi-pack rat personality is disappearing. Don’t use it? Out it goes! Also, I'm sad to say I think I am getting "the line" or linea nigra
Labor Signs?
Can’t wait to meet my little BOY!
Belly Button In or Out?
Flat but still in!
Wedding Rings On or Off?
On and totally fine
Having a bit of trouble falling asleep, but other than that I generally stay asleep all night which is lovely.
What I'm Looking Forward To?
Still haven’t set up his crib yet, so I am really looking forward to that!  We sold the bed that is currently in the room, just have to wait for the buyer to pick it up mid-February! I may move it out of the room soon though so I can get started on decorating his nursery.

Just for are some more pics in the silly new shirt C got me this week. I've included some bare belly ones too!

Ipsy Review - January

Ipsy time!

As always, this is one of my favorite times of the month….I love getting this bag in the mail! I think it’s the best bag out there, especially for such a low price of $10!  If you are looking to start a beauty subscription, I would definitely try Ipsy first.

The theme of this month’s bag is “Fresh Start,” which is cute. The colors of the bag, bright blue, white and coral definitely feel fresh! (The other side of the bag in the picture is completely white)

So here it is…the January Ipsy bag!

           1)     Hikari Eyeliner in “Storm” – .01 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I seriously had to google this eyeliner to see what color “storm” was. It’s grey. So yeah.
Even though I have been venturing out and using pencil eyeliner (gasp!) I am just not ready
to do grey.  I really only like black on my eyes, I look too washed out otherwise.
Full Size: $13.00 My Value: $13.00

            2)    Eco-Beauty Good Day Moisturizer – .5 oz.
This is so underwhelming to me. There is nothing exciting about a regular old moisturizer!  I
currently use one from LUSH, so I will be sticking with that. Especially for the price of this
Full Size: $40.00 for 1.7 oz. My Value: $11.76

           3)    Pacifica Natural Mineral Eye Shadow in “Treasure” – .08 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Though this is a pretty color, I am not a fan of Pacifica brand at all. It seems so darn cheap to
me. I’ve tried one of their eye shadows and it had virtually no color payoff at all.  Now, I will
forever assume the rest of their makeup is crap as well! Please stop putting this brand in my
bag ipsy, it makes me sad. Do I have the wrong idea? Is this makeup better than I think?!
Full Size: $15.00 My Value: $15.00

4)  Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm – .2 oz.
I am very excited for this!  I am always looking for a good lip balm as I always seem to have dry lips.  This is one I have seen before and I have been wanting to try it.  I used it once last night and so far so good!
Full Size: $12.00 .35 oz. My Value: $6.85

5)  Manna Kadar Cosmetics  Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion – .27 oz.
I wish we wouldn’t have just gotten something like this last month, I think I would be a little more excited about it.  I have several little tubes of this kind of product in different brands and they seriously last me forever…maybe because I rarely use them? I am confident I won’t ever be buying this in the full size!
Full Size: $24.00 for 1 oz My Value: $6.48

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $53.09

Man, I seem so negative in this review!  I guess I really try to look at the products and how I personally will use them, not how awesome they might be for others. That being said, I am really excited for the lip balm.  It pretty much makes the January bag worth it for me.
