Ipsy Review - June

Ipsy time!

I love getting this bag in the mail! For a price that doesn’t break the budget ($10 including shipping), it is a great deal and you get a little beauty treat each month.  Sometimes they are a complete hit, sometimes a few products are a miss, but it’s always worth at least what I paid regardless!

The theme of this month’s bag is “Rebel, Rebel” and comes in a hideous bag with super bright “graffiti” on it.  I honestly hate it.  I think it’s the worst bag I’ve ever gotten from Ipsy!
Next up…the June Ipsy bag!

1) Be a Bombshell Pout Potion in “Secret” – .28 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I thought I may really like this, but unfortunately it goes on a little too pale for my liking.  It is sheer and light nude, which doesn’t work for my skin tone.  I can see possibly using it over something darker though to tone it done.  What I do love about it though it the scent….mmmm vanilla!  It also has a great smooth texture, not sticky at all.
Full Size: $14.00 My Value: $14.00

2) Urban Decay Eyeshadow single in “Lounge” – .03 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Unfortunately I don’t use eyeshadows this dark very often at all.  I always tend to use the lighter shades in my palette.  I am curious though how this looks on. The packaging says “Is it green or is it red? No you’re not under the influence; this trippy duotone shade actually changes color before your eyes.”  Now that sounds intriguing!
Full Size: $19.00 My Value: $19.00

3) Crown Brush 3 Tone Bronzer  – .14 oz.
I don’t claim to be a makeup expert….but I wouldn’t exactly call this a bronzer?  It had three shades, a light shimmery peach, a pink and a shimmery brown.  To me that is more like a highlighter, a blush and a bronzer.  The name is just way off!  That being said, the sections are too small and close together to really be able to use them separately very. Seems difficult.
Full Size: $30.00 for .78 oz My Value: $5.38

4) Formula X Nom Nail Color in “Wingwoman” – .13 oz.
Normally I am not a big nail polish person….but this color is basically what I put on my toes every time I get a pedicure!  It will be perfect to have around for any touchups that may be needed.  Maybe every once in a while I will even put it on my fingers!
Full Size: $10.50 for .4 oz My Value: $3.41

5)  Biorepublic Fiber masks in “Cucumber Breeze” and “Pomegranate Crush” – 2 Masks
I love face masks, so of course I would like these!  I prefer the cream type that you put on your skin more, as opposed to these which are like paper masks you lay on your face, but I will still get use out of them!
Full Size: $14.95 for set of 3 My Value: $9.96

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $51.75

This month’s Ipsy bag is kind of blah for me.  Nothing really stands out that I love, but there isn’t anything I would absolutely never use either.  I think the two biggest hits for me are the nail polish and the face masks.

Life Lately....

Well....It's been a long time since I blogged about life.  I have to say, my days with a one year old are really, really busy! I go to work, get home, spend an hour or two playing with NoJo and feeding him, put him to bed, eat dinner, watch a little TV and its off to bed for me.  Rinse and repeat, day in and day out! I feel like I have very little time to myself.

I finally decided to make one big, HUGE, change in my life.  I got a new job.  Now, this may not sound that big to some people, but I have been in the same position for almost ten years now.  Ten years.  Holy cow!  I've been REALLY unhappy for the last few years, but I was just too intimidated with the whole interview process to start looking for something new. I swore I wasn't going to come back after my maternity leave....but here I am at the same place almost a year later. Finally I got so fed up I went through with it!

I have been with the same overall company (a bank) for over 13 years now, so I wanted to stay at the bank.  It took me a few months to find something I'd really like and I even lost out to a job because I was requesting a higher pay than they were willing to give me, but in the end I found something that I hope will be great!  It is the same base pay, but now I will be eligible for around 15-20% of my salary as a bonus on top of that. Yay!!

I know blogging has been pretty light around here and it will probably continue to be that way until I really get my feet on the ground.  I am finally starting to get used to my routine with Noah and get some real sleep, but I know a new job is going to shake things up again! Hopefully in the near future I can get back to blogging about REAL things!!

Thank you all for sticking around and reading my updates....I hope there will be a lot more in the future!

Also, wish me luck!  I start my new job on Monday.  Eeek!!!
