Ipsy Bag Review - February

Ipsy time!

As usual, this is one of my favorite times of the month….I love getting this bag in the mail! As I’ve always said, this is the best bag out there, especially for such a low price.  If you are looking to start a beauty subscription, I would definitely try Ipsy first.
The theme of this month’s bag is “Pretty In #Ipsypink” and comes in textured bag that is pink on one side and has a black and white design with a heart on the other. I would have though the “pink” part would be more prominent in this bag. From the bag itself to the contents, there could have been a lot more pink! This is kind of a fail on the theme in my opinion.
Next up…the February Ipsy bag!
1) treStique Baby Blush Stick in “Bora Bora Coral” – .04 oz.
At first I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this….but I kind of love it!  I have never really been one to use cream blushes, but this one works great. I’m always afraid it won’t blend well, but I haven’t had that problem with this.  I adore the color (Coral blush is my jam) so I wish this was bigger!  My only complaint is the blush part broke away from the stick before I even used it.  If I keep it twisted pretty tight its not a problem, but once I get to the bottom of the packaging and using it, I suspect it will be a problem and some will be wasted. Bummer.
Full Size: $28.00 for .21 oz. My Value: $5.33

2) Theorie Argan Oil Hair Serum – .5 oz.
I’m not sure why, but I have never been a hair serum or argan oil person.  Maybe it’s because I rarely do my hair these days?  Also, I tend to have oily hair, so adding more oil to it, no matter how awesome it’s supposed to be, doesn’t appeal to me.
Full Size: $39.00 for 3.4 oz. My Value: $5.73

3) it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye in “Neutral Medium” – .11 oz.
This stuff works fantastic, it really has amazing coverage.  My only complaint is it feels a little thick, but I am sure that contributes to the awesome coverage so I can get past it. It is pretty pricey, but a little of this stuff goes a long way so at least it would last awhile!
Full Size: $24.00 for .28 oz. My Value: $9.42

4)  Model Co. Lip Lacquer in “Morrocco” – .05 oz
I love this!  The color is perfect for me.  At first I thought it may be too dark, but the gloss is pretty thin, so its just a step up from nude on my lips, just a bit of flushed color.  Perfect!  The gloss itself is really nice as well. It isn’t sticky, which is my biggest complaint with most glosses. I am not 100% sure on the value….I couldn’t find the size of the full size tube.
Full Size: $24.00 for .1 oz. My Value: $12.00

5)  ciate London Mini Paint Pot Nail Polish in “My Go To Red”  – .17 oz.
This is not my color, but that is really beside the point. Holy cow is this stuff expensive.  I don’t buy nail polish because I rarely use it, but even if I did I would never pay $24 for a single bottle!  I can’t even give more of a review because of the price, it’s ridiculous.
Full Size: $24.00 for .46 oz. My Value: $8.86

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $41.34

Well I have to say, three of the five items are total hits for me.  Not only do I think I may get use out of them, I love them!  The blush I use every day and the lip gloss stays in my purse now. While I won’t be getting much use from the serum or the nail polish, I don’t hate their addition to this bag. Great bag with a great value!

Noah - Month 9

I can't believe this dude is already 9 months old!  He has been out of my belly now just as long as he was in there.  Crazy!

This month he is crawling like a crazy man and loves pulling himself up to a standing position. He will be walking before we know it!  The only problem with the standing...he's learned to do it in his crib!  He wakes up in the middle of the night, stands up and cries. Phew. It's exhausting sometimes.

Speaking of his crib, he still isn't sleeping well. He used to sleep through the night, but ever since he got sick a few months ago he hasn't been back to that.  I think his cough wakes him up....poor guy.

This month he started at 15.2 pounds and ended at 16 pounds.  He also grew half an inch longer, making him a full 28 inches.  My little man is growing! We are still breastfeeding...I can't believe mama's milk has kept a human alive and growing for 9 whole months!

There aren't a ton of exciting things that went on in January/February, but Noah did get to experience his first petting zoo!  He met a turkey, goat, bunny, goose and a few other fluffy creatures.  He also took his first bath in the sink, which he absolutely loved!

Noah - Month 8

I got pretty far behind on these....whoops!  Life has really caught up to me and its hard to find time to blog anymore. I want to at least share Noah's pics for the first year though. I want to be able to look back on this time and remember everything!

In his Eighth month we celebrated his first Christmas!  He wasn't too sure of what was going on, but he played nicely with all his new toys while we sat with daddy, Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle to open gifts.

He also got sick for the first time this month, which was a big bummer.  We spent many nights awake coughing and had plenty of "steam" sessions in the bathroom to try and fight it off.  It was rough because daddy had to fly back to Maryland for a funeral, so it was just mommy and Noah through it all.

Halfway through the month our little peanut weighed 14.2 pounds and is staying steady at 27.5 inches.

Little man got sick for the first time....I was oogling his curls as we "steamed" in the bathroom
