Lip Factory Review - May

My Lip Factory box is here!

To me, this box is like Ispy, but with more full sized products. 5-7 full sized products to be exact! If you have the money ($22), this is a good one to spring for! They aim for a “full face” of makeup, but their main focus is…lips of course!   This box comes a little later in the month too which I like because it really spaces out the awesome mail that I get!

This month’s theme was “Spring Has Sprung!” which I don’t quite see, but hey, they tried.

Here it is….the May Lip Factory box!

           1)     NCLA Nail Wraps – (FULL SIZE)
Well, I definitely won’t be using these.  I only like neautral colors on my nails, this would never work for me.  I would love to try nail wraps though, just not anything as crazy as this.
Full Size: $16.00 My Value: $16.00

           2)    Medusa’s Makeup Eye Shadow in “Maneater” – 2 g. (FULL SIZE)
Well this is pretty!  I love the color….but I am not sure I would wear it very often on my eyes.  I think I have one that is very, very similar from MAC (Stars & Rockets) that I rather use!
Full Size: $8.00 My Value: $8.00

           3)    Pari Beauty Lipstick in “Currant Event”– 4 g. (FULL SIZE)
Womp Womp, it’s a red lipstick, my favorite!  This color isn’t bright red though, so I guess I can’t lump them into the same category.  It actually is a pretty color, just way too dark for me!
Full Size: $12.00 My Value: $12.00

4)  MeMeMe Costmetics Blush Me! Boxed Blush – .23oz. (FULL SIZE)
I love this!  I used to use this color blush, but when it ran out I switched to corals. Now I have both!  I don’t quite understand the brush that came with it though, I like fuller kabuki type brushes. I wish the packaging were smaller as well.  I mean, who wants to lug that big thing around?
Full Size: $14.25 My Value: $14.25

           5)    Teeez Cosmetics Lip Gloss in “Roamin Mauve” – 5.7 mL (FULL SIZE)
This is awesome!  The color is a tad red on my lips, but it is definitely doable.  I love
how compact it is and the little bit of sparkle it has.  The packaging is really fun too!
It's hard to tell the color in the picture because of the packaging, but you can get a
peek of it near the end of the tube. It's a rosy pink.
Full Size: $18.00 My Value: $18.00

Final Cost: $22.00
Final Value: $68.25

This box was a combo of great and crappy for me.  I love the blush and the lip gloss, but the lipstick and the nail wraps are so far from something I’d like it makes me sad. I can’t be upset though, that happens with these types of boxes!  I am crossing my fingers for a better box next time.

What do you think?

Will You?

After finding my perfect venue and date, I of course had to get my favorite girlfriends involved!

Of course, I knew right away who I would love to have as my bridesmaids but what I didn’t know, was how I should ask them.

I wanted to do something fun, but also have something it be a little traditional.  Instead of asking “Will you be my Bridesmaid” I decided to ask “Will you help me tie the knot?”

For cards, I immediately went to my favorite place…..TinyPrints!  I started looking on their site and noticed their sister company, Treat.  Have you guys ever heard of Treat?  They have a lot of super cute things!  All of their greeting cards are customizable, which I thought was perfect.

When I searched for Bridesmaid ask cards, I came across several that were just adorable.

You can see a bunch more here! They even have some for groomsmen as well if your guy likes to be creative :)

I thought the final one (aptly called "The Big Question") was just perfect for the look I was going for and I was able to completely customize the front to have it say exactly what I wanted! I was able to put each girls name on the card and add any message I wanted to inside. I think cards are so much more personal feeling when your name is printed right on it. How fun is that!
Can you say cute packaging too??

Here is the final product:

"Will you help me tie the knot"

Next, I decided to make a little gift for the girls in the colors we chose for the wedding (Green, Ivory and Gold). I found these adorable knot rings and created a cute little gift box for them, with the same question.

Here’s how they turned out! The girls all loved them and even wear the rings, which makes me smile.

How did you ask your bridesmaids to join you on your special day or how do you plan on doing it someday?

A Portland Recap

Well as you all know, Portland was awesome.  I mean, I did get engaged to C while there, so why wouldn’t I say that!  Also though, it is a beautiful city and I got to spend some quality time with my mom and brother!

When we first landed there on Thursday night, it was cold and rainy.  I went from 100 degree temperatures to the 40s and 50s! It was such a change.  We checked into our hotel and immediate found some place to eat….Red Robin.  I highly suggest you stay away from their pretzel bites appetizer, it was quite terrible.

Rainy but very green!
The next morning we woke up and went in search of the famous Voo Doo donuts! Usually, there is a line around the block, but because the rain was still off and on, there was really no one there!  We waited in line for maybe 10 minutes.

After that, my poor brother got to go on an all-day shopping excursion!  I introduced my mom to my favorite store, LUSH, and we spent several hours at several different shopping areas in the city! At lunch, it was drizzling, the pouring, then hailing, then drizzling and then the sun came out.  All of this happened within a 20 minute period of time.  It was pretty crazy!

When lunch was over, we headed to the famous ice cream parlor, Salt & Straw.  It had a seriously cute feel to it and some wildly creative flavors.  I mean, sea urchin? Wild flowers? Pear and Blue cheese?  Who puts these things in ice cream?  They do! We tasted tested almost all of them, including Orpah's all time favorite ice cream...Olive Oil. In case you were wondering, it wasn't bad, but it was pretty darn boring!

After shopping some more, we headed to the Portland City Grill for happy hour, a place a friend of mine had suggested.  It is on the 30th floor of a building downtown and has beautiful views! We ate (or and drank) to our hearts content and then headed back to the hotel to relax.

Saturday around lunch time we took a tour of the Widmer Brothers Brewery.  I think it is so incredible to go and check out the operations of pretty popular brands.  We also got to taste several of their varieties, which hey, I’m not gonna complain about that!  After the tour we headed over to their Pub for lunch…..and several more samples!

After lunch we picked up C from the hotel (he was finally in Portland!) and went back out for some wine tastings. And another wine tasting. Oh and one more wine tasting.  At least I think.  After that many I was good and happy, we could have done anything!  Since C had a game the next day, he was our designated driver which was awesome.

After a tasty Italian dinner (and I believe a visit to some food carts) we headed back in for the night to play some Farkle.  Have you guys ever played?  It’s a really fun and easy dice game.  My mom got us all started and C and I play almost every week!

Sunday was game day! Mom and I shopped a bit in the morning and then we all headed out to the arena after lunch.  The arena in Portland that C played in was the same one the Trailblazers (NBA) played in the night before.  It’s so amazing to see how quickly they transform those places for a completely different sport!

As I mentioned before, C played an awesome game. He had 3 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble return.  He ended up being named the defensive player of the week and even won the “sack pot” he does with the guys (hello Groomsman tux donation money)!

After the game we headed over to Buffalo Wing Wings…..and we got engaged :)  Then we partied all night long.  Or until 1am haha. I’m definitely not a wild one.

The next morning we hopped into a car and drove all the way to Seattle just to fly home!  I wish we would have had more time to explore Seattle, but those darn Trailblazers had to be in the championship tournament!
Mount Olympus in Washington
Portland was really beautiful and I would love to go back for a longer period of time.  I am sure C and I will definitely be taking more trips there because it instantly became a special place to us!
