Ipsy Review - June

Ipsy time!

I love getting this bag in the mail! For a price that doesn’t break the budget ($10 including shipping), it is a great deal and you get a little beauty treat each month.  Sometimes they are a complete hit, sometimes a few products are a miss, but it’s always worth at least what I paid regardless!

The theme of this month’s bag is “Rebel, Rebel” and comes in a hideous bag with super bright “graffiti” on it.  I honestly hate it.  I think it’s the worst bag I’ve ever gotten from Ipsy!
Next up…the June Ipsy bag!

1) Be a Bombshell Pout Potion in “Secret” – .28 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I thought I may really like this, but unfortunately it goes on a little too pale for my liking.  It is sheer and light nude, which doesn’t work for my skin tone.  I can see possibly using it over something darker though to tone it done.  What I do love about it though it the scent….mmmm vanilla!  It also has a great smooth texture, not sticky at all.
Full Size: $14.00 My Value: $14.00

2) Urban Decay Eyeshadow single in “Lounge” – .03 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Unfortunately I don’t use eyeshadows this dark very often at all.  I always tend to use the lighter shades in my palette.  I am curious though how this looks on. The packaging says “Is it green or is it red? No you’re not under the influence; this trippy duotone shade actually changes color before your eyes.”  Now that sounds intriguing!
Full Size: $19.00 My Value: $19.00

3) Crown Brush 3 Tone Bronzer  – .14 oz.
I don’t claim to be a makeup expert….but I wouldn’t exactly call this a bronzer?  It had three shades, a light shimmery peach, a pink and a shimmery brown.  To me that is more like a highlighter, a blush and a bronzer.  The name is just way off!  That being said, the sections are too small and close together to really be able to use them separately very. Seems difficult.
Full Size: $30.00 for .78 oz My Value: $5.38

4) Formula X Nom Nail Color in “Wingwoman” – .13 oz.
Normally I am not a big nail polish person….but this color is basically what I put on my toes every time I get a pedicure!  It will be perfect to have around for any touchups that may be needed.  Maybe every once in a while I will even put it on my fingers!
Full Size: $10.50 for .4 oz My Value: $3.41

5)  Biorepublic Fiber masks in “Cucumber Breeze” and “Pomegranate Crush” – 2 Masks
I love face masks, so of course I would like these!  I prefer the cream type that you put on your skin more, as opposed to these which are like paper masks you lay on your face, but I will still get use out of them!
Full Size: $14.95 for set of 3 My Value: $9.96

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $51.75

This month’s Ipsy bag is kind of blah for me.  Nothing really stands out that I love, but there isn’t anything I would absolutely never use either.  I think the two biggest hits for me are the nail polish and the face masks.

Ipsy Review - May

Ipsy time!

I love getting this bag in the mail! For a price that doesn’t break the budget ($10 including shipping), it is a great deal and you get a little beauty treat each month.  Sometimes they are a complete hit, sometimes a few products are a miss, but it’s always worth at least what I paid regardless!

The theme of this month’s bag is “Ready, Set, Adventure” and comes in a really cute blue bag with different travel landmarks from all over the world, like the London Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the Taj Mahal.  I actually really like it! I wish it were a zipper bag though; it’s an envelope style with a button clasp.
Next up…the May Ipsy bag!

1) Slmissglam Small Contour Brush – (FULL SIZE)
I have just started using bronzer recently to contour and only have a larger brush, so this is perfect for me.  This will be great for the smaller areas, like the sides of my nose. This doesn’t seem to be sold separately on their site, so I am guessing on the price.
Full Size: $15.00 My Value: $15.00

2) epice Hydrating Mask – 1 oz.
I always love a good mask, so I am happy to receive this one! The only thing that I don’t like about it, is the instructions say once you rinse off the mask, you have to “wipe off mask residue with a washcloth or cotton pad.”  That sounds unpleasant to mean.  I mean, rinsing it off doesn’t get rid of it all? Ew.
Full Size: $35.00 for 3.3 oz. My Value: $10.60

3) Smashbox X-Rated Mascara – .10 oz.
I am excited to try this.  It is supposed to be a volumizing mascara, which is right up my alley.  I always love getting items from big brand names like this. I would probably not pay full price for a tube of their mascara, but the sample will last me quite awhile!
Full Size: $22.00 for .3 oz My Value: $7.33

4) Peek Nom Nom Natural Plumping Lip Balm in “Miracle” – 2g
First of all, this thing is way too dang tiny! I am pretty sure I will put it in my purse to use later and it will be lost forever.  It is seriously the size of about the top of my pointer finger. Speaking of pointer fingers, that is what I have to use to apply this, which I don’t like. I hate using my fingers to apply lip products. This is supposed to be lip plumping, but I can’t really tell a difference. It doesn’t have much of a “stinging” effect like others I have tried. It doesn’t really have a color to it, but it does smell amazing, like yummy cinnamon!  I couldn’t find anything online about the full size, so I guessed at the value!
Full Size: $22.00 My Value: $7.00

5)  Neutrogena MoistureSmooth color stick in “Almond Nude” – .08 oz.
I have a color stick like this already from Clinique, but it’s a bit more of a pink color.  I am not sure how I feel about this shade. I don’t wear a ton of nudes, I like a bit more color.  I can say though, it is really soft and it smells amazing….like apricots!
Full Size: $8.49 for .11 oz. My Value: $6.17

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $46.10

Yet again, I am really happy with this month’s Ipsy bag!  I love the contour brush, mask and mascara and I can see myself maybe using the lip balm and color stick too….so no product will be wasted. For a $10 bag, it is seriously such a great deal. I love Ipsy!

Ipsy Review - April

Ipsy time!

I love getting this bag in the mail! For a price that doesn’t break the budget ($10 including shipping), it is a great deal and you get a little beauty treat each month.  Sometimes they are a complete hit, sometimes a few products are a miss, but it’s always worth at least what I paid regardless!
The theme of this month’s bag is “Dreamers” and comes in an almost tie dyed, water color like bag.  Probably won’t be using that too much. The card states “Create looks that celebrate every side of your unique beauty-from natural and understated to high fashion and ultra-glam.”  I guess that about covers it?
Next up…the April Ipsy bag!
1) Tula Exfoliating Treatment Mask – .5 oz.
I do like face masks…..actually I love them.  That being said, I would never pay this price for one!  I am just fine with my $7 freshly made masks from LUSH.
Full Size: $54.00 for 1.7 oz. My Value: $15.88

2) Jor’el Parker Fango Mud Therapy – 1 oz.
Alright….two face masks this month?  I guess Ipsy knows I like them!  At least this one is a bit more in my price range, but it’s nothing spectacular. Also, it smells like my grandma.  Seriously. This scent strongly reminds me of her!
Full Size: $27.00 for 7 oz. My Value: $3.85

3) City Color Hightlight Trio – .083 oz. each
I really like this!  I have started using highlighters more these days, so I know I will get use out of this. I like that it has three subtly different colors.  One is more gold, another closer to a cream color and the third has a hint of pink in it.  All of them are very pretty!
Full Size: $2.99 My Value: $2.99

4)  Luxie Beauty Highlighter Brush #522 – (FULL SIZE)
Well if you receive highlighter in your beauty bag, the next thing you need is a brush and Ipsy has you covered! I don’t have a brush at home that is dedicated specifically to using highlighter, so this is a very welcome addition for me.  For the price though, I would never buy it again.
Full Size: $32.00 My Value: $32.00

5)  Tarte LipSurgence Lip Creme in “Wonder” – .056 oz.
I really wanted to like this….but I just can’t.  It looks like it could be slightly neutral rosey in the packaging, but when I get it on it is just way too bright for my taste.  Bummer.  It is also very drying to me.
Full Size: $24.00 for .1 oz. My Value: $13.44

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $68.16

I am really happy with this month’s Ipsy bag!  I love the highlighter and highlighter brush and I can definitely see myself using both of the face masks. Hopefully I can find a friend who likes the color of the Tarte Lip Cream. The value this month is absolutely fantastic; even if you take out the highest priced item (the brush at $32) it’s still a pretty good value!

Ipsy Review - March

Ipsy time!

I love getting this bag in the mail! For the price that doesn’t break the budget ($10 including shipping), it is a great deal and you get a little beauty treat each month.  Sometimes they are a complete hit, sometimes a few products are a miss, but it’s always worth at least what I paid regardless!
The theme of this month’s bag is “Hello Spring” and comes in an adorable orangey bag with a rose type pattern on it. I love it! The products are pretty dark to me to be “spring” like, but maybe they just happen to be the colors I got.
Next up…the March Ipsy bag!
1) Mellow Cosmetics Blush in “Bronze” – .16 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Blush two months in a row? Boo.  This color looks a little dark to me; it seems more like a bronzer than a blush.  I prefer rosier or more coral type shades.
Full Size: $10.00 My Value: $10.00

2) Beau Gachis Eyebrow Brush – FULL SIZE
I’m not sure how to use this as an eyebrow brush, I may use it as an eyeliner brush instead!
Full Size: $12.00 My Value: $12.00

3) Essence Make Me Brow in “browny brows” – .12 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I don’t do my brows very often since you can’t really see them because of my bangs. If I do my brows, it’s pretty much a waste of product. My first thought when I saw this was how cheap it probably is.  I remember seeing this brand in Ulta and everything was close to $1.
Full Size: $2.99 My Value: $2.99

4)  NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Softspoken” – .13 oz (FULL SIZE)
I ‘m not a huge fan of this. It is a little dark for my liking and it is very drying. I put it over a cream lipstick I already had on (well remnants of it) and it feels sooooo dry instantly! Bummer. This only thing I like it that it is very thin and not heavy feeling.
Full Size: $7.00 My Value: $7.00

5)  Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Spray Volume Mist – 1.4 oz.
Wow, this stuff seems to do a lot. It’s a “Caviar Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist.” Say that three times fast!! I honestly can’t imagine I’d really notice a difference in my hair when using this stuff, I’d only be hoping it was doing what it was supposed to! The good thing about it is it has a lovely citrusy clean scent. I’d spray it on my hair just for that!
Full Size: $28.00 for 4.8 oz. My Value: $8.16

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $40.15

This month’s bag is a total miss for me.  Not that Ipsy knows my hairstyle, but I am bummed two of the products are brow products that I won’t get use out of. I can’t fault them for that though. I use both blush and lip gloss, but I don’t like the shades of those that were included this month, so I won’t be using them.  The only thing that can save this is the magical hair mist, but I am not holding high hopes for it since I don’t use many hair products.

Ipsy Bag Review - February

Ipsy time!

As usual, this is one of my favorite times of the month….I love getting this bag in the mail! As I’ve always said, this is the best bag out there, especially for such a low price.  If you are looking to start a beauty subscription, I would definitely try Ipsy first.
The theme of this month’s bag is “Pretty In #Ipsypink” and comes in textured bag that is pink on one side and has a black and white design with a heart on the other. I would have though the “pink” part would be more prominent in this bag. From the bag itself to the contents, there could have been a lot more pink! This is kind of a fail on the theme in my opinion.
Next up…the February Ipsy bag!
1) treStique Baby Blush Stick in “Bora Bora Coral” – .04 oz.
At first I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this….but I kind of love it!  I have never really been one to use cream blushes, but this one works great. I’m always afraid it won’t blend well, but I haven’t had that problem with this.  I adore the color (Coral blush is my jam) so I wish this was bigger!  My only complaint is the blush part broke away from the stick before I even used it.  If I keep it twisted pretty tight its not a problem, but once I get to the bottom of the packaging and using it, I suspect it will be a problem and some will be wasted. Bummer.
Full Size: $28.00 for .21 oz. My Value: $5.33

2) Theorie Argan Oil Hair Serum – .5 oz.
I’m not sure why, but I have never been a hair serum or argan oil person.  Maybe it’s because I rarely do my hair these days?  Also, I tend to have oily hair, so adding more oil to it, no matter how awesome it’s supposed to be, doesn’t appeal to me.
Full Size: $39.00 for 3.4 oz. My Value: $5.73

3) it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye in “Neutral Medium” – .11 oz.
This stuff works fantastic, it really has amazing coverage.  My only complaint is it feels a little thick, but I am sure that contributes to the awesome coverage so I can get past it. It is pretty pricey, but a little of this stuff goes a long way so at least it would last awhile!
Full Size: $24.00 for .28 oz. My Value: $9.42

4)  Model Co. Lip Lacquer in “Morrocco” – .05 oz
I love this!  The color is perfect for me.  At first I thought it may be too dark, but the gloss is pretty thin, so its just a step up from nude on my lips, just a bit of flushed color.  Perfect!  The gloss itself is really nice as well. It isn’t sticky, which is my biggest complaint with most glosses. I am not 100% sure on the value….I couldn’t find the size of the full size tube.
Full Size: $24.00 for .1 oz. My Value: $12.00

5)  ciate London Mini Paint Pot Nail Polish in “My Go To Red”  – .17 oz.
This is not my color, but that is really beside the point. Holy cow is this stuff expensive.  I don’t buy nail polish because I rarely use it, but even if I did I would never pay $24 for a single bottle!  I can’t even give more of a review because of the price, it’s ridiculous.
Full Size: $24.00 for .46 oz. My Value: $8.86

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $41.34

Well I have to say, three of the five items are total hits for me.  Not only do I think I may get use out of them, I love them!  The blush I use every day and the lip gloss stays in my purse now. While I won’t be getting much use from the serum or the nail polish, I don’t hate their addition to this bag. Great bag with a great value!

Boxy Charm - January

Boxy Charm time!

Sadly, this is my last Boxy Charm.  It’s time for me to stop ordering so much makeup…my cabinets are literally overflowing. I will never in a million years use all of the makeup that I have. Good news is I went out with a bang. I LOVE this month’s box!
Boxy Charm is $21.00 a month with shipping included and is a “beauty box subscription that surprises you each month with the best beauty products from popular and chic brands. Each box contains full size and luxury size beauty samples from preferred well-known brands.” They aim to cover a whole look from makeup to nails, which I really like.

The theme this month is “Eyes on 2016” which makes sense with the New Year.  All of the products fit right in with the theme too!

Here is the January Boxy Charm!
1)  Blinc Mascara Amplified in “Black”  – .25 oz.(FULL SIZE)
I just heard about this stuff the other day, but I guess it is all the rage?  I am currently in love with my Younique mascara, but I will have to give this a try.  It’s something I would have never purchased on my own, so it’s great I am getting it in my Boxy Charm!
Full Size: $26.00 My Value: $26.00

2)  Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Eyeshadow Palette – 20 shades (FULL SIZE)
I love this!  I have always been a fan of Coastal Scents, so I am excited every time I receive one of their palettes through a subscription box.  I think the color payoff on their shadows is amazing, they are very pigmented.  They used to be a lot cheaper, so now I am not sure I would pay full price for one of their palettes…I would wait for a sale! I wish there were a few more light colors in this palette but overall the colors are quite pretty!
Full Size: $39.95 My Value: $39.95
3)   Royal & Langnickel Revolution Brush Set – 3 brushes (FULL SIZE)
This kit includes a detailed shadow brush, a pointed crease and corner brish and a smudging and contouring brush.  I have started to become more interested in the brushes I am using to put on my eyeshadow (I know, I am really late to the party) so this couldn’t have come at a better time. I am excited to try these out!
Full Size: $7.99 each or $23.97 My Value: $23.97

4)   Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner in “Hot Pink” – .04 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Well, I am the kind of person that only wears black eye liner, but if I were super adventurous I would totally try this.  The color is just gorgeous!  I am afraid I would look like I had pink eye though…which isn’t flattering. Maybe I can find an 80’s party to go to so I can use it?

Full Size: $20.00 My Value: $20.00

Final Cost: $21.00
Final Value: $109.92
I absolutely love this month’s Boxy Charm!  It almost makes me sad that I cancelled my subscription.  Being an adult is so hard sometimes! I love that I am getting to try the Blinc mascara and I am really excited to try both the brushes and the shadow palette. Though the liner isn’t a color I would use, I don’t even hate it because it is so pretty!

What are your thoughts?

Boxy Charm - December

Boxy Charm time!

The theme this month is “Pop Fizz Clink” which makes sense with the New Year.  The card included mention’s reveling in the “charm of an era or decadence and glamour” and looking back to a time when “Jazz, boas, glitter and pearls hit it big.”  Fun!

Here is the December Boxy Charm!

1)  Tatcha Petal Fresh Original Aburatorigami  – 30 sheets (FULL SIZE)
Ok the name sounds really fancy….but these are just oil absorbing sheets. I’m not too impressed, even if they are made from “100% natural abaca leaf and gold flake.”  Did you know a CLEAN toilet seat cover will do the same exact thing?!?  Beauty trick hehe.
Full Size: $12.00 My Value: $12.00

2)  Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow - .68 oz (FULL SIZE)
First of all, I just can’t get over this name. I can’t take the brand seriously!! That being said, I unfortunately have too many luminizers from brands I respect more, so I doubt this will be getting much use.  The one thing I do appreciate about it though it that the tube is quite large.  It will last a LONG time!
Full Size: $15.95 My Value: $15.95

3)   NCLA So Rich Cuticle Oil – .5 oz.  (FULL SIZE)
I appreciate that this is different from the usual nail polish, but I’m not sure it is something I would ever use. Since I am not a nail polish user and don’t ever need to use lotion, my cuticles have no issues. Plus, you are supposed to apply two times a day. Who has time for that?
Full Size: $18.00 My Value: $18.00

4)   Nelson J Argan Oil Moisture Healing Mask – 3.4 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I like the smell of this, it smells like coconuts. Yum.  I think I would normally get use out of a product like this, but I don’t like the fact that you need to towel dry your hair first before application, then let it sit, rinse and then you have to towel dry again. I prefer one I can use completely while in the shower!
Full Size: $23.00 My Value: $23.00

5)   Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in “Mocha” – .27 oz. (FULL SIZE)
For some reason I am not a fan of Ofra products and I unfortunately receive them often in beauty boxes.  The particular lip product is too drying for me and the color is too orangy.  Bummer.
Full Size: $19.90 My Value: $19.90

6)   Bellepierre Waterproof Gel Lip Liner in “Cinnamon” – .06 oz. (FULL SIZE)
As this matches the lipstick about, which is a color I don’t care for, I won’t be getting any use out of this either.  I do like that it is a “gel” liner though.  I really like gel eyeliners, so I assume the gel lip liner would be great as well!
Full Size: $17.99 My Value: $17.99

Final Cost: $21.00
Final Value: $106.84

I am feeling pretty indifferent about this month’s Boxy Charm. While overall, the products look great, they just aren’t really for me.  I think I will only be using the oil absorbing sheets and maybe the hair mask.  I am pretty bummed the lip products aren’t my color, otherwise I’d be using them too!

What are your thoughts?

Ipsy Review - December

Ipsy time!

As always, this is one of my favorite times of the month….I love getting this bag in the mail! As I’ve always said, this is the best bag out there, especially for such a low price.  If you are looking to start a beauty subscription, I would definitely try Ipsy first.
The theme of this month’s bag is “With <3 from Ipsy” and comes in a bright red bag with a quilt type pattern. I wish the bag wasn’t so plastic like, but that’s my only complaint.  I also got a nice extra (the shadow palette mentioned below) with a note telling me that I’ve subscribed to Ipsy for over three years now and that I was one of the first to subscribe, so they consider me a founding member.  How fun! I guess that shows how much I like it….three years and still going strong!
Next up…the December Ipsy bag!

1) Lather Honey Moisture Mask with Propolis Extract – .5 oz.
I love face masks!  The description for this one makes me giggle…”a relief mask for environmentally stressed skin.” Sounds so specific and fancy!  I like the smell of this…which is a good think because they recommend leaving it on for 20 minutes, which is long for a mask. In my opinion it smells a little like baby powder.
Full Size: $22.00 for 4 oz. My Value: $2.75

2) Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer – .17 oz.
I’m a big fan of eyeshadow primer, I use it every single day. Generally I use Urban Decay, but I am excited to try this brand!
Full Size: $20.00 for .35 oz. My Value: $9.71

3) Pacifica Natural Lipstick in “Tender Heart” – .07 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I can’t decide if I like this or not.  I think it may be just a tad too orangey for me.  I will give it a go though. Hopefully it isn’t too drying. I do like that it is all natural and vegan.  That’s a good thing for a lip product!
Full Size: $10.00 My Value: $10.00

4)  Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder in– .07 oz
This is another item I am excited to try.  I use a finishing powder every day also, so this is something right up my alley!  It’s a really well-known brand and line of makeup, but something I have never tried. I hope it works great!
Full Size: $14.00 for .13 oz. My Value: $7.53

5)  Klorane Floral Water Makeup Remover – .8 oz.
I was hoping this would smell really good….but it doesn’t smell any different than most makeup removers. I do like that is it considered soothing and for sensitive skin, because I tend to lean toward products like that!
Full Size: $10.00 for 3.38 oz. My Value: $2.36

6)  .em Michelle Phan Artistic Eye Color Palette in “Dublin Khakis”– .18 oz.
I am excited about this cute little palette!  It’s got great neutral colors and I do feel really special to receive one, knowing I am one of the first to try Ipsy and I still stick with it! Michelle Phan is the person who actually started the Ipsy Glam Bag, it’s cool that she has her own makeup line now!
Full Size: $28.00 My Value: $28.00

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $32.35
With Gift: $60.35

I can’t say the value of this months bag (minus the bonus gift that not everyone received) is very great, but I do like almost all of the items!  The only thing that I don’t think I will use at all is the lipstick. I can’t wait to try the eye shadow palette and the makeup remover, plus the finishing powder is next on my list once my current powder is empty.

What are your thoughts?

Ipsy Review - November

Ipsy time!
This is one of my favorite times of the month….I love getting this bag in the mail! For the cost, $10 including shipping, it is such a great deal. If you are looking to start a beauty subscription, I would try Ipsy first. You can’t really beat that! Getting makeup in the mail is just so fun!
The theme of this month’s bag is “Beauty Blast” and relates to space I believe, judging from the galaxy looking makeup bag that came along with it. The bag is so totally not my style. I don’t really see how the actual products relate to them theme, but oh well.
Next up…the November Ipsy bag!

1) Cool Way Strong Hold Spray – .5 oz.
This seems to be another brand that I am starting to get a lot of in my beauty boxes and unfortunately it’s a brand I’m not particularly fond of.  This product is just a hair spray though, so hopefully I like it! I can say, one of the things I don’t like about this brand is how their hair products smell. My hair is near my face, so I get whiffs of it often! This doesn’t smell terrible, but it is still an odd smell, almost like….oranges?
Full Size: $19.95 for 3.3 oz. My Value: $3.02
2) Model Co. Highlighting Trio in “Champagne, Peach Bellini & Bronze ” – .04 oz. each (FULL SIZE)
I’m not much into highlighting creams, but if I did use them this one doesn’t look very appealing. It actually looks pretty greasy to me. I like the idea of the three different colors though; I think it helps to match various skins tones.
Full Size: $22.00 My Value: $22.00
3) INSPR Eyeshadow in “Carnival”  – .05 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I don’t really have any reaction to this product.  The color isn’t ugly by any means…but I guess it just bores me. I prefer shadows in palettes honestly, so I don’t see myself getting a ton of use out of this. Full Size: $13.00 My Value: $13.00
4)  Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in “Jet Black” – .14 oz
I am excited to try this.  For the past several months I have been using different mascara samples, so this one will be next! I hope it lives up to the hype!
Full Size: $20.00 for .32 oz. My Value: $8.75
5)  Crown Pointed Crease Makeup Brush – (FULL SIZE)
I got a similar brush in my Boxy Charm box this week, though it is marked as a concealer brush.  I already have a few shadow brushes I like (though none are for my “crease”) so I won’t get a lot of use out of this.
Full Size: $4.95 My Value: $4.95
Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $51.75
I don’t love this month’s bag.  The only thing that saves it for me is the mascara! At least that and the value of the hairspray add up to what I paid for the bag, so no waste here.  The total value of the bag is, as always, great!  You always get your money’s worth with ipsy.

Boxy Charm Review - November

Boxy Charm time!

The theme this month is “Beauty Par-Tea” which is a cute idea.  It seems more like a spring idea, but cute nonetheless.

Here is the November Boxy Charm!
1)  Luxe Rose Gold Concearler Eye Brush #211  – (FULL SIZE)
I don’t use concealer too often (gasp) but I think I might start soon, my face has been breaking out. Boo.  This seems to be the perfect brush for that.  I also think it would be a good brush for using any cream shadows.  The description says it is “coated with antibacterial solution” which sounds a bit odd, but hey, it can’t hurt right?
Full Size: $12.00 My Value: $12.00

2)  Pur~Lisse Pur~Eye Adore Quandra Benefit Eye Serum - .5 oz(FULL SIZE)
I have gotten several products from this brand in past beauty boxes.  I do like them, but they aren’t magical enough to pay the price they charge for them, so I won’t ever be buying them.  At least this will last a lot longer than the small, equally high priced moisturizers I’ve received since you don’t use much at a time! The description says it contains “French marie plants to bring 4x the power in antiaging” Ooo La La!
Full Size: $65.00 My Value: $65.00

3)   Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Glass Stain in “All of Me” – .18oz.  (FULL SIZE)
I thought this might be a nice color for me, but it turns out it is too bright for my taste. It was too drying for me as well.  My lips seem to be quite picky.  I do like the packaging for this though.
Full Size: $24.00 My Value: $24.00

4)   Coolway Leave-In Treatment – 2 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I can’t believe this is considered a full size product for something you are supposed to “spray generously” into your hair.  I feel like I would only get a few uses out of it! The product itself is a pretty thick consistency, kind of like lotion.  I honestly can’t see myself spraying this on dry hair for fear that it would look greasy!  It does smell really good though, so I will give it a try on damp/wet hair.
Full Size: $19.95 My Value: $19.95
5)   Studio Makeup Soft Blend Blush Sahara in “Wildflower” – .17 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I love the color of this!  It is so perfect for me.  What I don’t love is how drying it is.  I wore it alone for maybe 30 minutes and had to add a gloss over it because it felt too dry.  2 hours later my lips were peeling.  Lame. I don’t do well with the “long-lasting” lip products.
Full Size: $17.00 My Value: $17.00
Final Cost: $21.00
Final Value: $137.95

I can’t say I love this month’s box, but I don’t hate it either. I will be using everything but the lip stain.  I’m not an eye serum person, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to use it! I am excited to make use of the concealer brush and the blush though.  Again….I like it….but love it.  Oh well.
