Weekly Updates 8-15

Since I don't want to bore you with tons of details about each week of my pregnancy that happened like 2 months ago, I thought I'd share short pieces of how I was feeling each week for anyone that was curious.  I will start doing more detailed posts soon! You'll have to pardon the photo quality, its the only place in our home that has enough light but no terrible shadow! Since I only see C in the evenings because of our work schedules, we haven't been able to take any pictures during the day.

8 Weeks
- I am feeling really good. I actually have to remind myself most of the time that I am pregnant.  I guess I (incorrectly) assumed once you get pregnant you would feel something. I am tired all the time and if I don't eat every few hours I feel a little blech, but I have had no morning sickness to date.  I am hoping that maybe I am one of the lucky ones!  The only other symptom I really have is having to pee a lot.  I never used to wake up in the middle of the night....now it happens every single night.  I thought the sleepless nights were supposed to happen AFTER baby??

9 Weeks
- Seriously you guys....pregnancy exhaustion is NO joke! Some days I can barely function, especially later in the afternoon. Working 40 hours a week is tough, there is definitely no time for a nap. Once I come home from work I pretty much do nothing and I have been falling asleep pretty early every night. I am a lazy bum!  Even the smallest tasks make me so tired. Its ok though, all worth it! Now, if I could just stop getting up to pee every night in the middle of the night and get some real rest, I'd appreciate it! No sickness still, which is awesome.  I have noticed I definitely have an affinity for salty, sour and spicy foods.  I have not really had a desire for anything sweet, dating all the way back to our honeymoon.  I hope this continues!  Sweet to me = more weight gain!

10 Weeks
- This week has really flown by!  We finally decided to start taking weekly pictures, though I am sure at this point the bump is really just "bloat" haha.  I got crafty and made my own little sign to take pictures with each week, I felt quite accomplished. I have had a little more energy this week, which is nice.  Now when I say a little more, I will say that I was proud that I was able to do a load of laundry the other day. So yeah, still not much energy! Smells have started affecting me a bit more, but I don't think its super crazy yet.  Things just smell stronger to me.  Which means smells I previously never liked are a lot worse and make me gag!  Things like the smell of cooking bacon and eggs are no bueno. I've noticed that I have really been craving apples.  I have probably eaten more apples (in various forms) in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 years! Honeycrisp apples, natural applesauce and granny smith apple chips are my favs right now!  Next week we have another doctors appointment, I can't wait to hear the heartbeat again!

11 Weeks

- Finally I am starting to get a little of my energy back!  It's so nice to be able to come home some evenings and not want to crawl right into bed.  Still not many other symptoms, which I am really thankful for. Sore breasts and having to pee a lot is enough for me.  I think my little bump became a tad bit more pronounced this week, but it is definitely mostly bloat.  The difference of when I suck it in versus letting it hang it out is incredible. The bump seems to be harder this week, which is encouraging.  I know I would seriously hate having strong pregnancy symptoms and morning sickness, but just feeling a little under the weather all the time is tough too.  I feel like it brings on so much more worry! On Thursday we had another doctors appointment.  I was really excited to hear the heartbeat and know that everything is ok, but it turns out the appointment was basically housekeeping.  It was more of a paperwork, pap smear, blood work kind of day. Boo. Good news is, she told us next week we get another ultrasound and they should be able to tell us the sex of the baby....ALREADY!  If for some reason our little bear isn't cooperating, we will find out through the blood work we did in about two weeks.  I seriously can't believe that. It is so surreal!

12 Weeks
- This week went by really fast!  On Tuesday we got to see our little marshmallow, which was super exciting.  It was my first belly ultrasound and I have to say it was quite uncomfortable!  My belly hurt the rest of the evening, which was no fun.  I guess they have to press super hard at this point, since baby is only 2 inches big! Nurse gave us a guess (well she seemed pretty positive) on the sex, but it was still based on a theory.  Once we get our blood test results back we will know for sure! It was fun announcing the probable sex to my momma, went we to target and picked out a little onesie that would give it away. She was super excited! No change in symptoms this week, just the same old sleepy, sore boobs and peeing in the middle of the night!

Ah the cuteness!  Baby had their arms up by their head and legs crossed...just chillin!
13 Weeks
- Whelp, I finally told work this week!  Everyone was pretty surprised, so it was quite fun.  I can't wait until we officially tell the world sometime next week.  I've got to get to work on getting some cute pictures taken for our announcement! I've got some new cravings this week....BLTs and tomato soup.  I may or may not have had both of these items 3 times in the last 5 days. Mmm mmm.  Thankfully C likes them both so he isn't complaining! I got the results from our blood panel (where they test to make sure everything is ok with baby and they are no signs of problems) and all was normal.  Woo hoo!  Also we confirmed the gender is a healthy baby..........just kidding.  We are keeping that a secret for a bit longer. You better believe I have started shopping though!

14 Weeks
Got a little lazy this week, sorry bout those sweat pants!
- It's finally here, the week we have decided to announce our news to the whole world! I can't wait until everyone knows. Also big news, I have officially began the second trimester!  Its hard to believe we are a third of the way through already.  That being said, May sounds realllllyyyy far away still.  I am still super tired and I've had a new symptom creep up recently, light headedness.  I was trying to shop for maternity pants on Sunday and I thought I was going to pass out a few times in different lines I was standing in to pay or try on clothes.  I ended up cutting the trip short and heading home to bed because it scared me so much. Still loving tomato soup this week.  I went and bought lots of cans of it and a bunch of the "soup on the go" containers so I could have some at work too. I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving this week.  Not only for the food (my appetite is slowly coming back) but also for the break!  I get off of work early on Wednesday and I don't have to come back until Monday. It sounds glorious!  Next week I think I will begin doing the regular bump date posts that I've seen around, those are so cute!

15 Weeks
- Um yeah, I totally forgot to write anything for this week.  It went by really quickly, so maybe thats why. I traveled to LA on an overnight trip for work, so baby got their first plane ride.  I think I may have felt the first bit of movement on the flight, but its still pretty early.  Taking off I always feel pretty sick (the pressure gets to me) so I was trying to take deep breaths and ward of some of the yucky feeling.  While I was concentrating on that, I felt two of the tiniest little bubble pops in my stomach. I've read that's baby's first movements feel like sometimes.  I can't be sure, but I hope to feel a lot more of that soon!  We also caved and bought a fetal doppler this week.  For only $36 and the peace of mind of being able to hear that little heartbeat from home whenever you want, I thought it was well worth it!  It is soooo stinkin cute to see C get so excited to use it and little to our little bear.  Makes me love him even more! My weirdest craving lately has been chocolate milk.  To pretty much the rest of the world, this is totally normal.  I however, was taken off of milk when I was about 2 years old due to constant ear infections and haven't had a glass of milk since.  So yeah, 28 years with no milk and BAM!  I have to have multiple glasses of it a day! So very weird!

Just for fun.....C's "baby belly"
Next post will be a full weekly update! I can't believe I've already been writing about this for two months!
