Week 24

What's Going on in There?
This week he is the size of a small cantaloupe! Man, seems like just yesterday he was inches big.  I love it! This week his hair is beginning to finally get some pigment and he is gaining a bit of fat, so his skin is becoming a bit more opaque.  Up until now, he skin has basically been see-through. Ew weird!

Maternity Clothes?
Completely.  It really want to get to Ross to see if I can find anymore cheap dresses.  I found a few for less than $10 and they have been really comfortable.  I think they will be imperative as it starts getting warmer here in AZ!
Weight?
This is moving up faster than I’d like…around 16 pounds
Stretch Marks?
None that I’ve seen

Movement?
Definitely!  This week it seems to be more rolling and waves rather than actual kicks and punches.  It is a really weird sensation!
Food Cravings?
You guys, I have a confession.  I’ve eaten McDonald’s nuggets and French fries at least one a week for quite a while now.  So yeah.  Baby really likes it!
Anything Making you Queasy or Sick?
Nope!

What I Miss?
Rolling over easily in bed!
Nausea/Vomiting?
None, phew
Symptoms?
Ugh, I am back to getting up to pee at least once in the middle of the night. It was great while it lasted!
Labor Signs?
Not at all
Gender?
Mustaches and muscles….a boy!
Belly Button In or Out?
So close to being flat!
Wedding Rings On or Off?
Still on a swirling around my finger like normal!  Although, I don’t wear them to bed. I’m not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Sleep?
Hasn’t been the best this week.  As I mentioned I am backing to waking up to pee in the middle of the night.  The problem is, its taken me a LONG time to fall back asleep after that this week. So I’m exhausted.
 What I'm Looking Forward To?

C and I are taking a mini trip for my birthday/babymoon to Vegas!  I am so excited! I know it sounds like the least likely place a pregnant woman would want to go, but I just want to see shows and eat at buffets!  We bought tickets for the Beatles Love Cirque de Soleil show, which I have been wanting to see for probably ten years. I can’t wait!
(I promise I will try to get a photo up this weekend!)

Wedding Day - First Look

I finally have some more wedding photos for you!

We chose to do a first look for our wedding, which I am happy with.  At first I was adamant on the first time he saw me on our wedding day being the moment I walked down that aisle.  I didn't want it any other way.  But over time after hearing input from friends and our photographer, I changed my view.

First, our portraits with the group and family were able to be done before the ceremony which saved us a TON of time after the ceremony.  C and I took our shots together after the ceremony and we were still probably gone an hour.  Had we needed to take group and family shots, it would have likely taken another hour.

Also, one of my bridesmaids E pointed out how amazing it would be to be able to actually give him a hug and a kiss after that special moment.  We wouldn't have to wait through the entire ceremony for that.  It was a great feeling to actually be able to talk about our feelings and express our love in a private conversation beforehand.

Finally?  Hello makeup reapplication!  I was able to go inside and fix everything up after the tears :)

Honestly this didn't change how I felt going down the aisle either.  There are photos of both of us with the oddest faces because we are just trying to breath and hold it all together.  Walking down the aisle for real was still VERY special, regardless of the fact that he had already seen how I look!  It was still exciting too, because though he had seen me, no else had!

Ok, that's my two cents on First Looks. Now on to the photos!

He was showing off his outfit :)

I got deodorant all over him...I was trying to get it off!

As I really wanted the First Look to be a private moment between C and I, I asked everyone in the Bridal cottage (which was where we did the photos) to please give us our privacy.  I just really didn't want everyone staring at us!  The girls gave us our privacy....for a few minutes.  Then they all peeked!  I thought these pics were cute. I love the smile on my mommas face!

Next up, the ceremony!

Week 23

(Sorry I totally spaced on posting this last weekend...pregnancy brain!)

What's Going on in There?
Baby is the size of a grapefruit or a bunch of grapes this week. Fitting, since I’ve been probably eating about 2 grapefruits a day lately! His blood vessels are developing in his lungs preparing him from breathing and he is growing teeny tiny little man nipples. How cute!

Maternity Clothes?
All the way.  I can’t even wear my old yoga pants, they are just too tight and uncomfortable.  Baby must be really low!
Weight?
I’m starting to not like this question.  At about 14-15 pounds this week.
Stretch Marks?
Nope!

Movement?
It slowed down a bit this week, but today he kicked for like an hour straight. I’m not going to lie, it was starting to get a little annoying! Usually its bursts of about 5-10 minutes and then he gets quiet again.  I also woke up to pee the other night and he started kicking so much it made me nauseous.  Oh man, this guy has some energy!
Food Cravings?
Nothing really this week.  I do finally like burgers again which makes me happy.  I couldn’t stomach them for a while and they used to be my favorite food!
Anything Making you Queasy or Sick?
Nothing but little man and his crazy kicking.

What I Miss?
Gorgonzola cheese and Redd’s Apple Ale.  I’ve been trying to avoid seeing cases of my favorite beer at the store, it’s not working!
Nausea/Vomiting?
Nope!
Symptoms?
I now have “the line” both below and above my belly button.  The funny part is they aren’t lined up evenly, they are about an inch apart.  What in the world?  I hope it doesn’t get much darker!
Labor Signs?
No thank you
Gender?
Frogs and puppy dog tails over here.  All boy!
Belly Button In or Out?
Almost completely flat, but still a bit in!
Wedding Rings On or Off?
On not looking like they are going to have any issues anytime soon, phew
Sleep?
Has been pretty good this week. The small pillow between my legs (with a cool satin pillow case) has been a life saver!
What I'm Looking Forward To?
Decorating his nursery more and setting up all of his gear.  We finally got his crib set up late last week, now I am itching to arrange the room the way I want it and get started on the real decorating!

Currently

So yeah, its been way too long since I have given everyone an update on what C and I are up to these days!

As you all know I am currently growing a little tiny human being….so that has taken up my life!

House

So we moved in at the very end of August last year.  We had a wedding, a honeymoon and then found out we were expecting.  The house and the decorating became a low priority to me because it was just too exhausting.

That is, until last week!  I went a little nuts with my “nesting” and spent the weekend shopping and decorating not one, not two, not three, but FOUR rooms in our house! Our master bath is completely done, the master bedroom is almost there, one of the guest bedrooms is fully decorated and the guest bathroom (and main bathroom in our home) is almost done too.  Craziness!  Hopefully soon I can get some pics up for you all!

Last I wrote we were working on re-doing our kitchen cabinets.  They were this awkward orangey brown color and we just didn’t love them.  We started this work in September and then boom, hello baby!  I had to quit working on them due to dangerous fumes and C was on his own.  I am happy to say, these are FINALLY almost done!  All the visible spots are complete, we just have to do the side of the cabinet that faces the fridge. I am so excited! We finally have all of our stuff in the cabinets and a real, live working kitchen!

Next up is baby Noah’s nursery.  I’ve got lots of ideas in my head, I just have to now execute!  We just sold the queen bed that is currently in the room, so once that is gone we can set up his furniture and I can get started.  His crib still being in the box is driving me nuts. I want to set it up sooooo bad!

As for our break in, we are finally almost back to normal.  It was such a bummer to deal with and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but there was a little good that came from it.  New stuff is sometimes exciting J  The police haven’t found any suspects and I don’t think they ever will.  We’ve since beefed up our security big time and are trying to move on.

C

C is still working full time in the off-season at Crate and Barrel. That time is coming to an end though, he reports for training camp at the beginning of March!  I can’t believe the season is almost here again.

I think he has gotten a tiny bit of the nesting bug as well, he has been excited to help decorate, working really hard to finish our cabinets and even completely organized our garage the other day!

Books

Oh man, I have read a lot of books since this last update!

First off, for book club I read and posted on both Wonder and Z. You can find those reviews here and here.

Next up, I read several books on my own.  My favorite of these was the Racketeer byJohn Grisham.  Oh man, this book was soooo good!  I know Grisham writes a lot of lawyer type books, but I have never really read them because of that. A friend suggested this book and I am so glad she did.  It had great suspense, I was totally engaged the whole time. It has lots of twists and turns too and keeps you guessing until the end, which I love!

Other books I read were Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy, Dad is Fatby Jim Gaffigan, Uganda Be Kidding Me by Chelsea Handler and the Tao of Marthaby Jen Lancaster, who is my favorite author.  Belly Laughs is a “truth about pregnancy” book that took me about a day and a half to read.  I’m not sure I read anything I didn’t already know though. Dad is Fat and Uganda Be Kidding me were mildly funny, but nothing to write home about.  The Tao of Martha wasn’t really my favorite either.  I used to really love Jen Lancaster books, but I think that is starting to change.  I think she needs to switch up how she does things, many of her books are quite similar.

I also read My Story by Elizabeth Smart for Bon’s Book Club, but that got pushed out until February of this year, so you will see my review then. Finally, I am currently reading Where’d You Go Bernadette by MariaSemple.  I’m over 60% through with it and its finally starting to get a little better, but I don’t have high hopes for it.

Clearly I need help choosing my next few books. I have not done good recently!  Any suggestions?

TV

Oh man, C and I are sooooo behind on our TV watching!  We got caught up during the “fall break” most TV series take, but the day after we did that all the shows got started back up again. So now we have multiple episodes of all the shows we watch piling up again.

The only show I ever watch religiously on the day that it airs…..is the Bachelor. Yes, so lame I know, but I just can’t help it.  My co-workers and I even have a bet going this season haha. We all picked our top three girls based on only the contestants pictures before the season started.  Whoever picks the girl that goes the farthest wins the pot!  I have high hopes for the two girls I have left (Jade and Kaitlyn if you are wondering) but I’m not sure either will become Mrs. Chris Soules.  I guess we will see!  (Please no spoliers if you already know).

Even though our DVR is pretty full, are there any must-watch shows I could be missing?!

Now that I finally have another laptop I am hoping to start back up with the wedding photos.  I just have to find the time (and energy) to set up all the posts for you all!  Hopefully soon!
