Pretty Little Beauty Swap Link Up!

Well its time to show off what you got in this round of the Pretty Little Beauty Swap!

My partner this time was Tabitha from A Hundred Tiny Wishes.  It was a lot of fun getting to know her because we are a lot alike I think!  She's also married, almost the same age as me and has a little guy of her own....though he's a few years older than Noah :)

She seriously spoiled me!  I sent her an email thanking her for everything and she said "Being a mom is hard work and now that lil man is older, returning to work must have been one of the hardest things to do. You deserve to be spoiled every once in awhile. Especially since when lil ones are little, all your time and energy goes to make them happy and make life that much easier."  How amazingly sweet is that?!?  Her email made me tear up.  Being a mom IS hard and going back to work three weeks ago was really rough.  It's nice to have someone recognize that!

First off....please excuse my photos. They are terrible and I know it.  We've had guests in our home for 9 weeks now (it was supposed to only be two....) so I can't take photos where I would have liked too and I had a crying baby needed my attention at the time too!

I loved all the goodies she sent.  First, she was even kind enough to think of Noah.  This little toy lights up and makes music and he LOVES it!  He stares at it in wonder every time I play the music.  So cute. He's starting to reach out and grab things, so this little gift is perfect timing.

She also sent an awesome shadow palette from Maybelline.  I couldn't even wait to get a photo of this all pretty and new before I just had to use it.  I have used it several times this week and its great!

Other goodies she sent include: tiny perfumes (not pictured....but my fav!), a face mask (love these too!), a kabuki brush, several lip glosses, a shadow quad, a shadow pen and make up removing wipes (a must for a new mommy)!

This shadow palette is seriously awesome though!!

Pretty Little Beauty Swap Signups!

Guess what time it is?!?

I am so excited to announce that the sign up process has begun for the another round of Pretty Little Beauty Swap of 2015 and will be open until July 10th! I truly love this swap and I love seeing others enjoying it as well! It's a chance to meet a fellow beauty lover, make a friend, and exchange some great beauty products!

Do you love getting beauty boxes? Or maybe just trying new beauty products in general? What about making new friends or receiving packages in the mail full of goodies? Want to meet another Beauty Loving Blogger? If any of these things sounds awesome to you, then the Pretty Little Beauty Swap is for you!

This program will from now on be hosted 4 times a year in: January, April, July, and October. This helps avoid the holiday seasons so that some that may have not been able to participate, for whatever reason, will be now able to participate. Ladies will be paired up with another woman that they will have a chance to get to know and then get to send each other a gift of beauty products. Swap boxes can be filled with beauty samples from past boxes that just weren’t your thing or purchased items you just know your partner will love!

 

Signups for this swap will be July 1st- July 10th. Partners will be announced by July 12th You will have a month to get to know your partner and then packages must be sent by August 14th

At the end of the month we will all link up to share what we’ve received!! Who’s in for some new pretty little beauty products and some even better new friends?

Rules:

2) Email your partner within 72 hours of receiving your match. If you haven’t heard from your partner after 3 days are up, please let us know and we will pair you up with someone else!
3) Spend the month getting to know your partner. Learn her makeup likes and dislikes and colors she tends to use or steer clear of.
4) Each box should be a minimum of $15. If you’d like to spend more, great, I am sure your partner will love you for it! Just make sure that you talk with your partner about budgets to makes sure that you both receive an even swap.
5) Please include at least 2 full size items.  No one wants to receive a bunch of itty bitty lotion samples!
6) Items must be new, unless you’ve discussed with your partner beforehand and she is comfortable accepting gently used items that you have tried and didn’t like.
7) Ship your packages by August 14th. Make sure to get a tracking number so we can confirm you sent a package if it gets lost.
8) Once you receive your package, create a reveal post and link up with us on August 21st.

Pretty Little Beauty Swap Link-Up!

Hello Pretty Little Beauty Swap Link Up time!

I think this is my favorite part of the whole swap....well I mean besides getting a box of new goodies.   I just love seeing what everyone else got!

Sadly, this is going to happen a little less often.  Chelsee and I have been talking and have decided that we are going to move this swap to a quarterly schedule, instead of bi-monthly.  I think it will really be helpful time wise. Plus, we are going to raise the amount a bit, so you'll have more time to save for more goodies for your partner!  The next swap will start in January, which gives us a nice little break.

This round was a bit hectic for me as I got married and went on a honeymoon right as it started, but I still managed to connect with my parter, Libby. She blogs over at My Life as Mrs. G and Follow the G's Around the World.  Man, I can barely keep up one blog, how in the world can she do two?!?

Let me tell you, she totally spoiled me!

When I got the giant box in the mail I was shocked. I opened it up and I was like a kid in a candy store.  There were adorable storage boxes filled with all sorts of goodies. I think she covered all of her bases...and then some!  It also came with the most adorable card, I just love the look of it.  I also loved the Starbucks gift card that came inside it!

I hope that you are all continuing to enjoy this swap.....I know I am!  Last round my partner never replied to my emails so I had to sit the round out.  I was extra excited to take part this time!

This time I was paired up with Kelley from One Hot Southern Mess.  Though we are both really busy right now, it  was fun getting to know her a little bit!

I received my box from her today and I am totally in love!

I think the thing I am most excited about is the stipling brush.  I have never tried one and have always been curious about them. She spoke highly of them and made me really consider trying them, so it was an awesome bonus to see she actually included one! Now is my time to try! Thanks Kelley!

It's time again for our Pretty Little Beauty Swap Link Up!!!

This month I was paired up with Kat from Kat Katastrophe.  I was fun getting to know her and I am surprised we had any time to chat because she is a busy busy little bee!  She just got an awesome job at Vera Bradley so I've been totally instagram stalking all of her new purchases!

I received my box from her today and I am totally in love!

First of all, she sent this AMAZING makeup bag.  I have never been in love with a bag more than I have with this one. It is perfect and SO me.  Seriously, if this was all she sent I would have been a happy camper.  But that's not all!

Inside the bag I found all of these goodies:

Freeman Mint & Lemon Clay Mask (since I told her I love masks)
Village Naturals Mineral Bath Soak (since I mentioned my addiction to baths)

I love that the whole package had such a fun, bright, summery feel to it!! Oranges and pinks just make me feel happy!

Last month there was a bit of a snafu with my package from our newest co-host Ange at Hairspray and High Heels so she ended up sending me a Sephora gift card because she basically rocks.  I ended up with a pretty sweet haul (ok I spent WAY more than the gift card....oops) so I will be sharing that soon too!

Pretty Little Beauty Swap Reveal and Link Up #2

It’s time for our second Pretty Little Beauty Swap reveal and link up!

So…..did you guys have fun this time around?

I sure did!

As you know from a previous post, I was paired with the lovely Jessa from Life of a Sports Wife! Not only did we do our swap, but we also had an awesome blate of dinner and the PAC 12 Championship game between Arizona State and Stanford!

But since I have already talked about that, I thought I would finally tell you how our swap went!

Jessa and I met up at my favorite restaurant here in Scottsdale called Sauce (Pizza and Wine). Oh man is it tasty.  That’s not the point though!  After we had chowed down, we decided it was time to swap.

She handed over a cute canvas bag and I was definitely surprised. All this for me?!?

I am not going to go into detail about everything she gave me so here is a picture! 

My favorite thing is the bright pink MAC eyeshadow she gave me.  She actually told me she wore this on her wedding day! How fun is that? I made sure she was ok with giving it away though, no worries!

Not only did she give me all the great beauty stuff above, she also cleaned out her jewelry drawer and gave it to me!  She told me it was totally fine if I didn’t keep some of the things too.  I kept a lot of it though and I am excited to add it to my collection!

The rest went my coworkers daughter and I am sure she loved it!

It’s a Blate!

So this weekend I got to do something super awesome…..I had a blate with Jessa of Life of A Sports Wife!  Not only did we get to hang out, have lunch and do our Pretty Little Beauty Swap exchange (I’ll share more on that later), we got to go to the PAC 12 Championship game between my alma mater Arizona State and Stanford!

Jessa and I were paired up for the Pretty Little Beauty Swap that I host. I may or may not have purposely paired us up together because I knew we would get along great….and we did!  Not only does she love sports and live in Arizona, she lives only a mile away from me!  How crazy is that?!? She also once worked for the Arena Football League (that C plays in) which I thought was fun.

Anywho, we met up for an early dinner/late lunch.  I mean, what do you call a meal at 3:30 in the afternoon?!?  Then we headed over to the game.

The atmosphere was electric!  The students had camped out for days just to get good tickets, so obviously they were pumped. And so was I!  It wasn’t just a regular ole’ game, it was the PAC 12 Championship game!

I wish I could report a good outcome, but alas, ASU did not do so great. In fact, it was pretty terrible. About halfway through I began to lose hope :(  It would have really been great if they had won….they would have ended up playing C’s team (Michigan State) in the Rose Bowl!  It would have been our first “house divided” experience.

I had so much fun! Thank you Jessa for inviting me!

I’m pretty sure this will go down in history as the most awesome first blate ever!

Cara Box Reveal - Round Two

After having so much fun during the last round of the Cara Box exchange, I decided to do it again!  I really liked the more extended format this time around.  I was a lot less confused as to who was who and not rushing to really get to know my partners.

This theme for this round was “Fall” In Love With the Season.  Who doesn’t love fall?!?  It was nice to talk with my partners about what their likes  and dislikes of the season are. Personally, I don’t understand the pumpkin latte thing. Or really much of pumpkin anything!  But I do love boots and the scents of fall.

My first partner was Jordan over at All The Small Things.  We really had a great connection.  I think we sent several “vent” type emails to each other! It’s nice to meet someone you can tell everything to and who you know has your back even if you’ve never met!  As she is moving around a bit right now, she asked that I hold off on sending her box for a bit until she is settled so I am going to send it this weekend.  Her reveal should be up soon!

My second partner was Kara over at The Simple Life Blog.  I love the box she sent me!  It was awesome getting to know her as well. She is an east coaster and grew up in the agriculture industry, so working with the livestock and educating about agriculture is something she is really passionate about. I’d love to learn more, but the closest I get to that subject is looking at the cows on display at the state fair!

She sent me an awesome package of goodies!  The first thing I pulled out was the mug.  I mean, hello, that screams fall!  Plus, inside were three packs of hot chocolate that sound so tasty.  I am sad I am probably going to have to share those with C! Next I pulled out the Peach Buds.  I have never heard of these but oh man were they good!  They last forever too.

After shoving a peach bud in my mouth (and in C’s too) I pulled out the EOS lip balm.  I have seen this stuff everywhere. I’ve really wanted to try it, so I was quite excited to see it in my box! The flavor is pomegranate raspberry and I have to say, it’s pretty amazing!  The size is just a bit chunky for me, but I plan on keeping this as my nightly chapstick that I keep on my bedside table. I seriously can’t fall asleep without chapstick on!

Next up were the cute little city notecards!  I can wait to write little notes in these. They really are adorable.  I wonder who I am going to write to first?!?

Finally, and my favorite thing of the bunch, was an adorable car freshener from Bath and Body Works.  I absolutely love it!  C and I share a car, so I kind of giggled when I told him I was going to put it in the car.  He was a little unsure until I opened the scent packet. It’s Pumpkin Cupcake and it smells absolutely incredible! C drove one of his teammates to physical therapy and he told me they had an actual conversation about how good it smelled haha.  Yes, men did that!  I actually went out last night and bought more refills for it since they are having a sale right now!

I really had a lot of fun with my second round of the Cara box exchange!  I am so happy to have “met” both of these gals and I know we will continue to be friends!

Calling All Beauty Lovers! (Oh and a Giveaway)

I am so excited to be able to finally reveal something that Chelsee and I are working together to host. A while back I had an idea of doing a beauty swap and did a little post about it. I really wanted to make it awesome....but I had no clue how. After I posted I talked with Chelsee and she said she'd love to co-host!  
Now we know that there are a few programs with this concept in existence, but this one is unique in that it focuses on Beauty Products alone. How many of you have some Ipsy stuff laying around that you do not use? Well I for one love most of the products that I get in the mail, but sometimes I have some that I just do not use. 
What would you say if I told you that you could pass these along to someone, along with some more of your Beauty Favorites? Well I am happy to introduce you to a new program that will give you the opportunity to try some new beauty products.    Of course I am talking about the Pretty Little Beauty Swap! Basically, this is a program where you will be matched up with another beauty lover and you will exchange a box full of goodies. Sounds fun right? 
We thought long and hard about this program and decided that due to our own experience with other box swaps that we would hold this every other month. This will give you the opportunity to collect some real goodies for your partner, as well as get to know them better. I think the best part of this program is that beauty lovers will unite! I am so excited to meet other beauty enthusiast and learn what products they recommend, as well as make some new friends!

Beauty Swap?

As you have seen if you have been reading for any length of time, I love beauty boxes. Usually I get about 3 different ones a month. That’s a lot of beauty products and samples!

That being said, it’s pretty much guaranteed that I won’t like every single thing I get. And I haven’t. Sometimes things just aren’t the right color for me or I just find no use for them or I just have too many of that kind of product already.

So……I propose a swap! Does anyone else have beauty products they just don’t want or think they will use? I’d love to swap with you!

I think it would be fun to get several girls in on this and maybe do it once every couple of months.

We can decide on a specified amount of items (so someone doesn’t get slighted) and also discuss if you are cool with them being slightly used (as in I tried this on and I hated the color – not l used this every day for two months and there is barely anything left!).

Any HTML pros out there?

Ok girls, I have what I *think* is a great idea for a swap/mini gift type of thing…..but I am CLUELESS when it comes to HTML!!!  I would have no idea where to start.

That being said, is anyone good with HTML that maybe wants to co-host with me?
